Welcome to the Bunny of the Month Page!
One sunny afternoon in May 2006, Erica got a call on the House Rabbit Network hotline that a bun was stray in Belmont. She drove over there and found an English Spotted rabbit lounging under a tree. To Erica's surprise, she was able to pick the rabbit right up. The bun was taken into foster care and 4 days later she gave birth to Skittles and Tootsie and 6 more brothers and sisters. Skittles and Tootsie look just like their mother, Dakota, who has since been adopted. Skittles has black spots and has what looks like a black ink foot print on her back. Tootsie has brown spots but has mostly soft white fur. Both buns are very gentle and have excellent litter box habits. They are HUGE hay eaters! Their foster parents are constantly replenishing their supply. Skittles pretends she's the shy one, thought really she's not. She's not one to be pet, while Tootsie will puddle on the floor for pets. They both take a little bit to warm up to you. If you take the time to get to know them you will see they are very happy buns! Skittles is the dancer of the pair and does the best binkies. She will nip at her sister's butt to get Tootsie to binky with her. It's quite the site seeing them bounce around the room together. They really enjoy tearing up phone books and playing in the cardboard critter cottage. When they are done playing they let you know they want to go back to their condo by tugging at the baby gate. The sisters know just how to get back even though the play room is two rooms away from the bunny room. Such smart girls!
