Dakota’s Babies In the middle of May 2006 the hotline received a call that there was a stray bunny, that was obviously not wild, hanging around houses near a golf course in Belmont. The neighbors had no success in capturing her. When an HRN volunteer arrived, she saw the white and black rabbit laying underneath a tree. All she needed was a raisin to catch the little girl. If only all rescues were that easy. Dakota was scooped up and taken to the volunteer’s home where another volunteer was waiting to help check her out. Dakota had a few ticks on her, but other than that she seemed perfectly fine. Or so we thought... Just a few days later, she gave birth to eight healthy babies: Rolo, Hershey, Skittles, Tootsie, Bean, Charleston, Juju B, and Reeses. Everyone has been adopted and are doing great. |
