Poppy and Charlie’s Babies Charlie and Poppy were rescued from an neglectful home. They lived outside in a hutch and had two litters. We were told not all babies survived. It was around Thanksgiving of 2005 and it had been snowing. Their water was frozen and there was no hay. Poor parents and babies. Luckily House Rabbit Network were asked to step in and rescue the family. Immediately mom and dad were separated. Mom was left with the kids to nurse them. All 7 babies were nursing. Poppy was so overnursed that she actually developed mastitis. The vet said she’d be ok, but that we should start feeding the babies formula to give mom a break. The babies grew up and were named Chevy, Tumble, Minnie, Nushi, Spot, Zeus, and Rose After Poppy and Charlie were spayed and neutered we noticed that they still had an eye for each other. They were always trying to get into each other’s cages. So together they live happily ever after. |
