Dunkin'

When Rascal, our beloved bunny of 10 ˝ years died last March, we were despondent for months. Finally we were ready to bring someone new into our home, or at least we thought we were ready… this new guy is so energetic, we asked his vet to check that he had really been neutered!!

Dunkin’, our recently adopted free-range rabbit, continues to amaze and entertain us - he learned to steal food from the refrigerator his second day here. While he came to us as a Barry Manilow fan, he’s evolved to Neil Diamond and Eric Clapton. We are also pleased to announce his switch from the Yankees to the Red Sox:

He guards our house from furniture tops, so that he won’t miss anything interesting:

Dunkin’ loves to move knickknacks, pillows, car keys and firewood to his preferred locations. We finally gave up returning the wooden geese to the windowsill, because he had another spot in mind. At least he helps with household chores like sorting laundry:

Dunkin’ (as in Dunkin’ donot) knows when he’s done something wrong. When we give him a stern “no”, he nearly always stops the transgression. When it’s a firmer “NO”, he often runs to the kitchen, giving himself his own time-out. And what would cause a self-imposed punishment? Perhaps the time when he found that pawing the toilet paper would unroll white streamers all over the floor. And once wasn’t enough - Dunkin’ soon discovered that both bathrooms had the same toy!
