Diego and Frida have settled in beautifully since they came home last October. They have free run of my bedroom, where they share a 2-story NIC condo and a wide assortment of toys. Their favorites are willow balls and rings to chew and toss.
They were pretty shy when they first arrived, but now they love to lounge and snooze in the middle of the room. Diego comes running for head rubs, and sometimes Frida will join him, though she prefers to spend her time redecorating their maze of boxes.
We call them "las vaquitas" (little cows) because they love to eat so much hay! My Nicaraguan boyfriend never knew before how important hay was for rabbits.
I am amazed and delighted at how sweet these little guys are. It means so much to me to see and experience their growing trust. |
