We adopted Rio and Willow, who are know known as Han Solo (Hansi) and Greta in November, 2003. We had just lost our other bunny Lucy, and my husband and I could not bear coming home from work without a bunny to greet us. We went to HRN with the intention of getting one bunny. Instead, we found two loving and adorable bonded bunnies! Greta is an all black bunny with a lot of attitude. She is smart, clever and mischievous. She likes to have her head and ears stroked. Sometimes she responds with teeth chattering- a sign that she is truly content! She loves to jump up high onto furniture and other places that she knows are off limits. She's a rebel girl! Han Solo (Hansi) is my other sweet and kissy bunny. If I put my chin on the floor next to her, she will give me bunny kisses all over my nose. She loves to hide in narrow places, like behind her cage. She is less curious than Greta. She likes to hang out next to the kitchen table on the sisal rug.
Greta and Hansi enjoy racing around the living room, hopping over one rug to get to another. They don't like the hard wood floor in between. They love it when I feed them basil leaves from my fresh basil plant. They also love to play with their favorite plastic slinky toy. They are happiest when they are lying down next to each other and taking turns grooming each other. It's a pleasure to watch them and love them.
