Spring Has Sprung!

A new season is upon us here in New England, and this bunny has been going through the ususal bunny experiences.

First and foremost, shedding. All it took was a couple of those nice, warm days and the fur started flying. I don't shed as badly as some bunnies, because I am a mini-rex, and my fur is a bit on the short side. But, it's still really, really nice when Mom scratches my back for me. I just don't like it when she pulls at the loose stuff. Then, I get really annoyed with her.

With the nice weather, I spent several weekend days out all day on the newly screened in porch. Mom and Dad were doing their outside stuff and, if I stood all the way up, I could look out at them while they worked. I also got to watch all the birds going to the feeder, and napping in my sunbeam under the patio chairs was great.

I must admit, I was a little scared at first. But, I had followed Mom out on the old deck before (read all about our Skunk Encounter in the September Journal) and I thought it was neat then. After I spent some serious time sniffing everything, and staked out some favorite things to hide under, I liked it much more.

At the end of each day, my cage and I got moved back indoors because it was a little cold outside at night.

It was nice to have the freedom to hop around all day and see everything going on. Mom and Dad don't like to let me run around inside if they aren't there to watch me, so this was a much better deal.

I hope all you folks out there are having a wonderful springtime.

Noelle
