For Immediate Release The House Rabbit Network has again proven its dedication to rabbits in need of homes around the country. This time HRN extended its reach to save "meat" rabbits in PA. A farm in Williamsport, PA was breeding rabbits intended for meat. However, the owner of the farm is moving and therefore going out of business. He agreed to let the remaining rabbits be saved as long as they are out of his barn by July 24. Any rabbit left will be sent to the slaughterhouse. With the combined efforts of Ashley Rea, a 16 year old girl in PA who started the call for help, and the volunteers and foster homes of HRN, many of these bunnies will be saved.
HRN has taken in fourteen of these friendly, young bunnies. All are
between 4-16 weeks old. These rabbits will be up for adoption
between 1-3 months, as all need to be spayed and neutered. It
will cost the House Rabbit Network approximately $800 in vet
care to treat them for parasites and spay/neuter. Any donations
to help defray the cost of saving these bunnies is greatly appreciated!
Checks may be made out to "House Rabbit Network." In the memo
section, please write "Williamsport" and mail it to:
Please consider adopting one of the other wonderful bunnies at HRN. This will ease the burden placed on foster homes with the influx of the Pennsylvania bunnies, and you will give a deserving bunny a new home. If enough bunnies are adopted out, HRN can take more from the farm, thus saving even more lives. It can't be done without your help! The House Rabbit Network is a Massachusetts-based 501(c)3 non-profit, all volunteer organization celebrating our 4th year. We have dozens of wonderful house rabbits for adoption of all ages and many volunteer opportunities. We accept donations to fund our efforts to find a forever loving home for every bunny. ### |
