Apple & Oat Bunny Treat Recipe

Looking for some more fall fun with your bun? Try making these super tasty treats; Your bunny will go wild for them! Because these have quite a bit of sugar, like all treats, they should only be given occasionally. Luckily, these can be left in the fridge for about a week without spoiling, and can be frozen for up to three months.

Ready in: 2 hours 

Yields: 25 treats 

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 tsp of honey 
  • 1 tbsp of water 
  • 1/4 cup of pellets 
  • 1/4 cup of oats 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F. 
  2. Chop apple and then either mash or blend apple, water, and honey until smooth. Make sure to remove all seeds. 
  3. Grind pellets and oats in a blender or food processor. 
  4. Add pellet and oat mixture to apple mash. 
  5. Allow mixture to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. 
  6. Drop small, thin, nickel-sized balls of dough onto a cookie sheet. Tip: use ungreased parchment paper on top of the cookie sheet to prevent sticking.
  7. Cook for 30 minutes or until the cookies are brown at the bottom. Once they are done cooking, leave them in the oven as it cools. This will make them extra crunchy.
