Wednesday, January 28th – Virtual Volunteer Expo
House Rabbit Network Virtual Volunteer Expo
Wednesday, January 28 at 6:30 PM (Virtual)
Looking to make a meaningful difference in your community in the new year? Join House Rabbit Network for our Virtual Volunteer Expo and discover how you can help save rabbits’ lives as part of a dedicated, compassionate team.
House Rabbit Network thrives solely because of our volunteers – people who believe in working toward a greater good and giving rabbits the safe, loving futures they deserve. Whether you’re new to volunteering or looking to deepen your impact, this session is a welcoming way to learn more.
During this virtual event, you’ll hear a brief overview of who we are, what we do, and how our organization functions. Then, representatives from our various volunteer departments will each share short overviews of their roles, what support they need most, and how you can get involved. We’ll wrap up with an open Q&A panel so you can ask questions and find the opportunity that best fits your interests and availability.
Departments featured include:
Hotline
Fostering
Outreach
Shelter Volunteering
Clinic Support (Vet Techs, etc.)
Bunsitting
Bonding
Social Media & Communications
Spa Day & Nail Trim Clinics
If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, this is the perfect place to start. Come learn how you can be part of a team that truly changes lives – one bunny at a time!

February – Date with a Shelter Bunny <3
Looking for a low-pressure way to meet some truly special bunnies? Join us for Date with a Shelter Bunny – a cozy, one-on-one experience where you’ll spend quality time with a rabbit currently in our care.
Participants can book a 1-hour bunny date, with the option to extend to 2 hours if time allows. During your date, you’ll relax in a comfortable space, get to know your bunny’s unique personality, and enjoy gentle interaction at the bunny’s pace. Some bunnies may be outgoing and curious, others quiet and observant – every date is a little different, and that’s part of the magic.
Dates are available during bookable time slots from February 1–February 15. Our goal is simple: every bunny deserves a date, and your visit helps provide enrichment, socialization, and love to rabbits waiting for their forever homes. You’ll be given new toys to unbox with your shelter bunny, along with their own fresh bag of treats to share during your time together.
Some of our shelter bunnies are still learning what it means to trust humans. Extra time, tasty treats, and the presence of a calm, patient person help these bunnies build confidence and positive associations – making experiences like this incredibly valuable for their journey toward adoption.
Whether you’re curious about rabbits, considering adoption in the future, or just want a meaningful animal experience, this event is a wonderful way to connect – no pressure, just bunny time.
Volunteers will be present to help guide interactions, answer questions, and ensure both you and the bunny have a positive experience.
Come fall in love – or help a bunny practice for when they do.

Saturday, February 7th – Rabbit Grooming 101
House Rabbit Network invites you to a practical, hands-on rabbit grooming workshop designed to build confidence in routine rabbit care. Attendees will learn safe brushing techniques, how to trim nails properly, and when and how anal gland cleaning is needed. You’re welcome to bring your own rabbit or work with one of our shelter bunnies, and all necessary supplies will be provided. This workshop is open to rabbit guardians at any experience level and is also a great introduction for pet groomers interested in working with rabbits.

Sunday, February 15th & March 8th – RHDV-2 Vaccine Clinics
Dates: Sunday, February 15th and Sunday, March 8th
Location: House Rabbit Network Clinic & Shelter, Westford, MA
House Rabbit Network is hosting two upcoming RHDV-2 vaccine clinics at our shelter in Westford, MA. These clinics are a critical opportunity to protect your rabbit from Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV-2), a highly contagious and often fatal virus. The vaccine will be administered by Exotic Pet Mobile Vet.
If your rabbit has never received the RHDV-2 vaccine OR if it’s been over 18 months since their last dose, they must complete an initial two-dose series, given three weeks apart. It is not possible to complete the series with just one visit—attendance at both clinic dates is required to ensure full protection. House Rabbit Network can provide the 2nd dose of the vaccine by request. Email lauren@rabbitnetwork.org to organize.
For rabbits who have already completed the initial two-dose series within the last 18 months, only one booster dose is needed this year. You can attend either date to receive the annual booster.
Each vaccine dose costs $60, paid directly to Exotic Pet Mobile Vet on the day of the clinic. This price reflects a recent increase from the vaccine distributor, Medgene. If preferred, meloxicam, a rabbit-safe oral pain reliever & anti-inflammatory, is also available for an additional charge.
RHDV-2 can spread through direct contact with infected rabbits or via contaminated surfaces, hay, food, clothing, or even shoes. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect your rabbit and help prevent the spread of this serious disease within the rabbit community.
