Bunsitting

  • 119 paid requests for this quarter totaling $26,915 ($26,690 same quarter last year)
  • 35 requests are scheduled through December 2026
  • 7 requests are currently waiting for sitters
  • 24 requests were withdrawn by clients
  • 4 bunsitter discounts were given (totaling 22 days)
  • 2 new sitters were onboarded and 3 were removed from the group, for a net loss of 1 sitter this quarter
  • A new email template was created to send in response to all new requests. Hopefully this  open line of communication will minimize the number of messages sent to the hotline and info regarding bunsitting
  • As per Suzanne’s request, as of 8/9, bunsitting is sending out invoices via Zeffy ($2150 of the total for the quarter was received via Zeffy)

Bonding

  • 3 virtual consultations completed totaling $75
  • Bonding is still not accepting new in person bonding requests at this time. We lost another bonder due to her son’s allergies (she was also a sitter). We are theoretically down to 2 bonders, but one has traveled a lot for work and has not been in contact with me lately. I did receive a few inquiries from people interested in becoming a bonder for HRN, so there is a possibility we may be able to open the program again, but it is still unclear when that can happen.

Shelter

Everything is running smoothly at the shelter. No new news to report.

Clinic

Clinic is on hold as we search for a new vet. We did just receive some nice donations from Labcorp which is closing their Bedford office. Heated V surgical table, microscope, and other supplies.

Foster Homes

The BIG news this summer is the Brockton rescue of 32 rabbits.  We were able to get 50 new foster home applications with social media outreach.  We tested some new ways of approving foster homes quicker while still maintaining our standards.  We held virtual training sessions with multiple people on the call so we could get the bulk of the information to people and allow them to ask questions.  Then quicker calls to wrap up any loose ends etc if needed.

We had a lot of vacation coverage to manage this summer.  The biggest challenge is always having foster homes follow protocol!  Aycia always does a great job managing this!

Working on scheduling in person workshops and virtual protocol meetings.

Hotline

Sadly Rosie, our hotline lead, passed away. We will be figuring out who can take over.
